Myckenzie Smith

Background

After transferring from Fullerton College to San Diego State University, Myckenzie Smith is currently in her fourth year studying journalism, on track to graduate in the upcoming spring. Homeschooled for ten years in an RV following the 2008 financial crisis, a higher education was not in cards for Smith, until she carved the path herself.

Objective

With a unique perspective on life, Smith's journalistic approach seeks to highlight the nontraditional, uncovering the taboos that are often dismissed and left in their tumultuous cycles. In her efforts to cover the stories often overlooked, her goal is to open the eyes of those willing to see.
